Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to oncology patients following established standards and healthcare practices.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care, treatments, and educational needs.
- Demonstrate competence in making clinical judgments regarding patient safety and treatment.
- Participate actively as part of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care involving families and caregivers.
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy, and operate medical equipment for examinations and treatments.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain proper documentation, including basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association, renewed every two years.
- At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
- Certification in bio/chemo or fundamentals course from ONS (or ability to complete within 2 weeks of hire).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Knowledge of chemotherapy administration and oncology nursing principles.
- Familiarity with office procedures and medical terminology.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively during emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interpret physician instructions.
