- Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care for telemetry patients on the Med-Surg unit.
- Insert NG tubes, peripheral IVs, and interpret telemetry strips.
- Respond actively to cardiac rhythms and coordinate patient care accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and family support.
- Work at least two of four holidays per facility requirements.
- Maintain documentation in Epic and medication administration via Pyxis.
Required Qualifications
- Active AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS prior to start).
- Telemetry certification (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ Med-Surg tele experience or 3 years of tele experience.
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred, specifically in 300+ bed facilities or at a UVMHN acute care facility.
- Recent EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years.
- Ability to work 2 out of 4 holidays.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with IV placement, telemetry rhythm interpretation, and bedside procedures.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate across nursing disciplines.
- Reliable transportation, preferably personal or rental vehicles with all-season or snow tires during winter months.

Additional Information
- Assignment start date: 12/22, for 16-32 weeks.
- Travel rate: $100/hour; local rate: $90/hour within 50 miles; additional distance rates apply.
- Must have completed 2 travel assignments at large facilities or have experience at a UVMHN hospital.
- Onsite parking available; housing options may be 15 minutes away.
- Reliable transportation is essential; no public transit options.
- No block scheduling; orientation sessions held bi-weekly.
- Floating is infrequent; unit works as a team with experienced support staff including CNA/PCT and unit secretaries.
- Equipment used includes Sigma IV pumps, GE EKG machines, Stryker beds, and cardiac monitors.
- Must be able to perform unit-specific procedures including NG tube and peripheral IV insertion, with telemetry interpretation skills.
