Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic medical nuclear medicine procedures following clinical protocols and facility standards.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in performing nuclear medicine imaging across diverse age groups under physician supervision.
- Maintain the quality and accuracy of imaging procedures, adhering to safety guidelines and radiation dose monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with patients using AIDET principles, providing clear instructions and reassuring care.
- Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, ensuring proper positioning, immobilization, and exposure settings.
- Uphold infection control, radiation safety, and sterile techniques during procedures.
- Ensure equipment functionality through routine maintenance and coordinate with engineering staff as needed.
- Assist with inventory management and report any technical issues to management.
- Provide exceptional patient service by minimizing wait times and addressing patient needs professionally.
- Serve as a preceptor for new team members, sharing expertise and training on procedures and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS).
- Ability to perform nuclear medicine procedures with competence and attention to safety standards.
- Knowledge of radiation safety, dose monitoring, and infection control protocols.
- Strong communication skills and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to rotate call as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in nuclear medicine or medical imaging.
- Familiarity with radiation dose monitoring tools and safety procedures.
- Basic first aid and emergency response skills.
