Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory for various cardiac procedures
- Monitor patients pre- and post-procedure, ensuring safety and comfort
- Read tele strips, titrate IV drips, and administer medications as needed
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including cath lab techs and charge nurses, to deliver quality patient care
- Follow department protocols for diagnoses such as STEMI, stroke, and other cardiovascular conditions
- Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, including dress code and on-call expectations
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois nursing license or verified application process in progress
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Previous cath lab nursing experience with the ability to read tele strips and manage IV medications
- Understanding of common diagnoses and procedures in the cath lab setting
- Last four digits of SSN and middle initial for submission
- Ability to produce a negative drug screen (OSF is a drug-free campus)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with peripheral angiograms, interventional radiology, or neuro interventions
- Familiarity with Philips monitoring equipment and Epic EMR system
- Comfortable working with minimal float requirements and flexible scheduling
