- Full-time, Nights shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal patients in a combined L&D and postpartum unit.
- Monitor fetal and maternal well-being using external and internal fetal monitoring techniques, including spiral electrode and IUPC placement.
- Assist with high-risk and low-risk deliveries, including vaginal and cesarean sections, and manage postpartum care.
- Administer medications and fluids, including Pitocin, antibiotics, pain management, and administration of blood products.
- Recognize and manage obstetrical complications such as preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, preterm labor, and fetal distress.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and comfort, including participating in emergency response procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Missouri or pending license approval.
- BLS, FHM, and NRPS certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent labor and delivery experience.
- Ability to perform sterile speculum exams, fetal monitoring, and manage obstetric emergencies.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) experience preferred.
- Familiarity with fetal monitoring systems such as Phillips Avalon.
- Experience in high-volume obstetric settings (100-300 births/month).
- Ability to float within scope to postpartum or couplet care units as needed.
