- Full-time, day shifts, 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical unit within a Magnet and Teaching hospital
- Manage patients with a full range of clinical issues including blood dyscrasias, endocrine disorders, heart and renal failure, GI conditions, infectious diseases, and asthma
- Perform phlebotomy and establish starting IVs as needed
- Float within the service line to meet hospital needs
- Adhere to unit-specific charting procedures using the EPIC system
- Follow safety and compliance protocols, including BCLS certification
Required Qualifications
- Valid State Nursing License (Missouri required at the time of submission; Illinois license not accepted unless existing)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience; 2 years preferred
- BCLS certification
- Experience with EPIC charting system (if required for the specific unit)
- Ability to work every other weekend
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in a Level I Trauma or Teaching Hospital
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placements
- Experience managing complex patient conditions in an acute care setting
