- Full-time, 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac patients in a stepdown unit.
- Monitor patient cardiac rhythms and respond to arrhythmias with interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring.
- Administer medications, including cardiac drips such as Diltiazem and Amiodarone.
- Manage post-procedure care for cardiac caths, surgeries, and sheath removals.
- Access ports, administer blood products, and care for central lines, PICC lines, and sheaths.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Active NC or Compact RN license in hand at start date.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent cardiac stepdown nursing experience.
- Experience with telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown units.
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and operate remote cardiac monitoring systems.
- Experience with post-cardiac cath procedures, sheath pulls, and cardiac drips.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge nurse experience.
- Certification in ACLS; NIH certification is a plus.

Additional Notes
- Float required as needed, with the potential to float every shift.
- No RTO (leave requests) allowed during the first week due to orientation.
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
- Schedule includes weekend work every other weekend.
- COVID-19 protocols and disaster staffing policies apply, including potential deployment during emergencies.
- Must complete 24 hours of unit orientation.
- References required at time of start, with two manager/supervisor references preferred.
