Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and professional nursing care to patients in the IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units.
- Monitor patient vitals, assess clinical conditions, and respond to changes swiftly.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly.
- Support patient and family education throughout the care process.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid registered nurse license in the state of Indiana (in hand prior to start date).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in telemetry, neuro, or similar units.
- Must be willing to float to different levels of care within the hospital as needed.
- Current BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Candidates must have SSN and DOB available at submittal for documentation purposes.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience with neuro conditions, including CVAs, hydrocephalus, brain tumors, and resections.
- Skilled in managing drips and conscious sedation procedures.
- Exposure to trauma, GI surgeries, and wound care.
- Experience in Level 1 Trauma or emergency care is a plus.

Additional Information:
- Travel required to cover various units, including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU, with float responsibilities.
- Must be flexible with weekend shifts, which will be about 50% of the contract.
- First-time travelers accepted; local candidates are not eligible.
- Commitment to compliance with IU Health travel policies required.
- Modules completed prior to start via online system.
- Travel to be coordinated with operational needs, including participation in precepting or student shadowing as needed.
