Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal periods.
- Monitor electronic fetal heart rate tracing and perform labor assessments to ensure patient and fetal well-being.
- Support and educate patients on childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum self-care.
- Assist physicians with bedside procedures, pelvic exams, and OB-related interventions.
- Stabilize and prepare high-risk maternal or neonatal patients for transfer to tertiary care facilities.
- Supervise, delegate, and collaborate with CNA, tech, and support staff to ensure quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or eligible for licensure in Alaska.
- BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within six months of employment.
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience; labor and delivery experience preferred.
- Knowledge of obstetric nursing practices, fetal monitoring, and neonatal care.
- Proficient in nursing procedures, patient assessment, and use of medical equipment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in labor and delivery or maternal-child health nursing.
- Familiarity with NICHD terminology and fetal monitoring standards.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations, including trauma and fetal distress.

Additional Details
- This role involves working during scheduled shifts that may include on-call responsibilities, holidays, and weekends.
- Will take call as assigned and participate in departmental meetings and training.
- Supervisory responsibilities may include leading CNA and support staff during shifts.
