Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care to telemetry and medical-surgical patients, including orthopedics, urology, ENT, gynecology, and general surgery.
• Monitor patients using Alaris infusion pumps and Phillips cardiac monitors, responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Assist with procedures such as venipuncture, EKGs, starting IVs, and medication administration.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in rapid response, code blue, fall prevention, and IV team activities as part of the unit’s comprehensive care approach.
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and utilize PYXIS medication systems.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license on file at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care, medical-surgical, and telemetry experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHSS certification completed prior to start date.
• EPIC electronic health record experience within the past 2 years.
• Reliable transportation, as public transit is not accessible in this area; vehicles should be equipped for winter conditions (all-season or snow tires).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Progressive care experience is a plus.
• Ability to quickly adapt to evolving patient needs and demonstrate critical thinking.
• Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital setting preferred.
