Key Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy using Varian Linear Accelerator (True Beam) according to prescribed treatment plans.
• Document treatment details accurately in Meditech and Aria systems.
• Check patient diagnosis, prescriptions, and identification prior to treatment.
• Explain treatment procedures and safety measures to patients, ensuring clear communication during sessions.
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, including immobilization devices and field settings.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout treatment, maintaining visual and audible communication.
• Operate CT simulation equipment and perform procedures effectively.
• Observe and enforce radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff.
• Maintain accurate records of treatment, patient responses, and equipment status.
• Perform equipment safety checks and report any issues promptly.
• Support departmental workflow by performing scheduling and clerical tasks as needed.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with quality improvement initiatives and departmental policies.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiation Therapy.
• Current registration as a Radiation Therapist (RTT) with ARRT.
• Meets American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) with renewal every two years.
• Experience operating Varian Linear Accelerators and performing CT simulation procedures.
• Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and patient care.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a radiation oncology setting.
• Familiarity with Meditech and Aria documentation systems.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
