Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in a Medical Surgical unit.
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and document care accurately using the Epic system.
• Float as required to other units based on staffing needs, maintaining flexibility in scheduling.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and holiday coverage requirements.
• Participate in bi-weekly orientations and maintain all required certifications.

Required Qualifications

• Current state RN license (or proof of application with applied date).
• AHA BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical unit experience.
• Experience with Epic EMR within the past 2 years is mandatory.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in an acute care, Medical Surgical setting.
• Ability to work independently and handle a fast-paced environment.
• Strong documentation skills using Epic and Pyxis medication system.
• Reliable transportation to facility, as public transit is not available in the area.

Additional Information

• Travel rate: $90/hour; local rate: $80/hour within 50 miles; extended radius: $85/hour for 51-100 miles.
• No block scheduling; includes holiday coverage (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day).
• Facility: 24-bed Medical Surgical unit focusing on adult and geriatric care.
• Equipment: Braun Infusomat pumps, tabletop Bipap machines, on-site respiratory support 24/7.
• On-site respiratory staff from 7AM-7PM; on-call during nights.
• Staffing includes 1-2 nurses per shift, with additional support staff as needed.
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained.
