Job Title

• Contract / Travel, Days shift, 13-week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care in a busy PACU, monitoring patients' vital signs and administering pain medications as ordered
• Manage up to 2 patients per nurse in Phase 1 PACU and up to 3 patients in Phase 2, including discharge procedures and patient education
• Titrate drips, care for ventilated patients, and handle patients on BiPAP/CPAP support, ensuring safety and compliance
• Collaborate with anesthesia and respiratory therapy staff to coordinate patient care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic medical records (Meditech)
• Ensure adherence to unit policies, safety protocols, and infection control guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas or appropriate state licensure
• Critical Care experience, including titrating IV drips and ventilator management
• Experience caring for intubated patients and patients on BiPAP/CPAP, with RT support familiar with these procedures
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a flexible, organized, and team-oriented mindset
• Comfortable following detailed protocols for vital signs and medication administration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous Meditech EMR system experience
• PACU Phase 1 experience at a Level 1 or 2 trauma center
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and discharge instructions
