Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to trauma, surgical, orthopedic, and urology patients on the Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Float to other units and hospitals as needed to support staffing needs.
- Adhere to unit protocols and maintain compliance with hospital standards and policies.
- Document patient interactions accurately using the Meditech EMR system.
- Ensure patient safety and deliver compassionate care during each shift.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license for the State of Alabama or a Compact state license (no temporary licenses).
- AHA BLS or Red Cross certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-acuity setting, or at least 18 months with strong relevant experience, including 1 year in specialty care.
- Ability to work 36 hours per week, including every other weekend and holidays as required.
- Willing to float across units and hospitals.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in trauma, orthopedics, or urology units.
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR system.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
