Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for MRI examinations of various body parts, ensuring optimal imaging results.
  • Set up and adjust equipment such as coils and monitoring devices to support imaging procedures.
  • Screen patients and staff for ferrous metal objects or implants to ensure safety.
  • Select and document appropriate pulse sequences during scans; recommend protocol modifications when necessary.
  • Evaluate image quality and completeness, manipulate images via console tools, and relay images to physicians.
  • Maintain and operate PACS systems, ensuring prompt delivery and verification of exam results.
  • Monitor patient safety during procedures, including administering IV contrast, recognizing reactions, and reporting issues.
  • Keep accurate records of procedures performed and participate in data collection for regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in training and evaluating MRI students, technologists, and radiologists, and stay current with ongoing education.
  • Respond professionally to patient inquiries, explain procedures clearly, and observe patient condition throughout.

Required Qualifications

  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology
  • BLS certification through AHA
  • Minimum of 2 years of related MRI technologist experience
  • Experience with GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T MRI systems
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Compliance with flu vaccination policies or valid medical exemption

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience working in hospital or clinical MRI settings
  • Strong knowledge of PACS systems and MRI protocols
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under pressure

Additional Information

  • Shift: Nights; 8 hours per shift, 5 shifts per week
  • Contract position with guaranteed hours of 72 biweekly, excluding on-call time
  • Candidate must be available for interviews and complete all credentialing requirements
  • Local candidates residing within 50 miles of Boston preferred
  • No recent experience at a facility within the last six months of the same health system will be considered
