Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to surgical patients in an 8-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).
- Manage and monitor patients with diverse needs, including transplant, hepatobiliary, and general surgery cases.
- Maintain appropriate patient ratios, typically 1:1 to 1:3, to ensure quality care.
- Document patient progress and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams using Epic electronic health records.
- Adhere to unit policies, safety protocols, and state certification requirements such as CPR-AHA and ACLS.
- Support patient recovery and ensure compliance with all care standards on a fast-paced, trauma-level 1 environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of related ICU, SICU, or trauma experience.
- Current CPR-AHA and ACLS certifications.
- Prior experience working in a trauma or Level 1 trauma center.
- Epic electronic health record experience.
- Active RN license.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for transplant and hepatobiliary surgical patients.
- Ability to work rotating day/night shifts and every other weekend.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in high-acuity settings.
