• Rotating shifts, 12-hour shifts, part of a 3-shift per week schedule, contract position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in a designated Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) for adult patients.
• Care for a diverse patient population including transplant, hepatobiliary, and general surgery cases.
• Maintain appropriate patient-to-nurse ratios, typically 1:1 to 1:3.
• Document patient care using electronic medical records systems.
• Follow all unit protocols, including trauma/level 1 trauma procedures, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Participate in weekly orientation sessions and adhere to facility policies.

Required Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related work experience in an ICU setting.
• Current CPR (AHA) and ACLS certifications.
• Must have previous SICU and trauma/level 1 trauma experience.
• Epic electronic health record experience required.
• Valid RN license in the state of Massachusetts.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for surgical, transplant, or hepatobiliary patients.
• Ability to work rotating day/night shifts and every other weekend.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in a high-acuity environment.
