Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend, 13-week assignment, must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care to a diverse patient population in a 26-bed acute care unit, primarily focusing on general surgery and trauma patients
- Monitor post-surgical patients, as well as patients with medical diagnoses, using cardiac monitoring, capnography, and continuous pulse oximetry
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including adherence to float policies and scheduling requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety
- Document patient care accurately within the electronic medical record system
Required Qualifications
- Valid License to Practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia (VA) or in process of obtaining
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Ability to work night shifts of 12 hours
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work scheduled shifts and adhere to hospital policies
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units
- Familiarity with acute care patient monitoring technologies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse clinical environment
