Schedule / Job Type:
Part-time, 12-hour nights shifts, 3 shifts per week, 13-26 weeks contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a Medical Surgical unit, including care for COVID patients when assigned.
• Manage and administer insulin and heparin drips, as well as other high-acuity procedures like wound vac dressing changes and high-flow oxygen.
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC and Pyxis systems, following SBAR communication protocols.
• Participate in unit orientations and adhere to scheduling needs, including working holidays and weekends.
• Support patient safety and comfort during inclement weather events or disaster situations, including storm or hurricane team duties.
• Assist in maintaining appropriate patient ratios and perform charge nurse responsibilities as required for night shifts.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Capable of administering insulin and heparin drips.
• Must be able to work holidays and be flexible with schedule.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Certification in CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention).
• Prior charge nurse or leadership experience.
• Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations in a hospital setting.
