Key Responsibilities
• Assess clients’ physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities to develop appropriate occupational therapy plans.
• Conduct evaluations and provide interventions for clients with functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments.
• Develop and modify therapy goals based on evaluations, documenting progress in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
• Educate clients to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including providers, case managers, and family members, to promote optimal patient care.
• Participate in department activities and initiatives to support organizational goals and professional development.
Required Qualifications
• Valid and current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the practice state.
• Certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Successful completion of all applicable state and department-specific training and competencies.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior experience providing occupational therapy in an acute care setting.
• Knowledge of current research and evidence-based practices in occupational therapy.
• Ability to treat patients of all ages with a variety of diagnoses and disorders.
• Flexibility with work schedules, including occasional weekends and floating to different units or locations.
