- Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, working 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care across various departments and locations within a 20-mile radius.
- Assess triage patients over 20 weeks gestation using obstetric triage acuity tools.
- Evaluate and monitor patients during labor, including fetal assessments and management of labor progression.
- Prepare expectant mothers for delivery, administer medications, and assist during cesarean and emergency deliveries.
- Conduct postpartum and newborn assessments, including medication administration, assisting with procedures (e.g., circumcisions, laboratory draws), and newborn stabilization.
- Respond to critical situations, ensuring patient stabilization and transfer to higher levels of care if needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of current nursing experience in labor and delivery or obstetric care.
- Valid nursing license for the State of New Mexico or a Compact State.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
- NRP certification.
- AWHONN Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certification.
- Ability to pass BCA testing during the first week of assignment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC electronic health record system experience (training provided if needed).
