Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care for patients in IMC, PCU, and stepdown units, including post-procedure and post-surgical management.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage cardiac drips, and perform sheath removal procedures.
• Assist with various cardiac procedures such as TAVR, Mitral Clip, and cardioversion.
• Conduct wound care, including wound vac management, and operate specialized equipment like arterial lines and Dopplers.
• Follow unit protocols for patient care, medication administration, and documentation using systems like EPIC and Pyxis.
• Adhere to infection control and safety standards in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience on a cardiac or stepdown floor.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Proven competence in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and sheath removal.
• Ability to interpret EKGs and manage cardiac devices.
• Clinical experience with post-MI, cardiac cath, and vascular surgeries.

Preferred Skills / Certifications

• Experience with arterial line management and wound care.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Familiarity with specialized equipment such as Epicardial Pacing Wires and Femoral Sheaths.
