Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit patients, including those with CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib, tachy/brady syndromes, and syncope.
• Monitor and administer medications such as Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitro, ensuring patient safety and compliance with protocols.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including charge nurses and hospitalists, to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Utilize the EPIC EMR system for accurate documentation of patient information and notes entered.
• Assist with patient assessments, vital signs, and managing vents (BiPAP, CPAP, HF/Vapotherm) as needed.
• Adhere to hospital policies, including drug-free policies and required certifications.

Required Qualifications

• Valid and active Illinois RN license or confirmation of application initiation.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Active Illinois license status.
• Last four digits of SSN and middle initial for screening purposes.
• Understanding that OSF is a drug-free campus and candidates must pass a negative drug screen.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with IMC or stepdown units, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system.
• Ability to float to different units within the hospital as needed.
