Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care to renal patients on a 36-bed unit, including post-hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
• Float to other units and hospitals as needed to ensure optimal staffing and patient care.
• Collaborate with nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists to deliver comprehensive renal care.
• Adhere to unit protocols and maintain accurate documentation using the Meditech EMR system.
• Support patients through various stages of diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of kidney-related conditions.
• Work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holidays as required.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license valid in Alabama or a Compact license (No temporary licenses accepted).
• Associate degree in nursing (ASN or BSN preferred).
• AHA BLS or Red Cross certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in the specialty of renal care, or 18 months plus work under a high-level license.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units.
• Prior renal or dialysis nursing experience.
• Ability to float successfully across units and facilities.
