• Nights shift (12-hour shifts)
• Scheduled for approximately 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to adult patients in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, including post-cardiac cath and cardiac drip management
• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation and medication administration
• Float as part of the float team to various units, ensuring coverage and patient safety
• Monitor patients requiring insulin drips, cardiac infusions, and advanced cardiovascular care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet patient needs and adhere to unit protocols
• Maintain a professional and compliant work environment, including scrubs in navy blue or white and following dress code standards

Required Qualifications

• Valid NY nursing license or proof of application with applied date (processing time 6-8 weeks)
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications, NIHSS certification prior to start date
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry experience in an acute inpatient setting
• Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac cath care
• Recent Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Teaching Hospital or Level 2 Trauma facility
• Prior travel/catch experience preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with complex cardiac patients

Additional Notes

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Reliable transportation required; personal or rental vehicle recommended with all-season or snow tires
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained in your work history
• Days of orientation scheduled bi-weekly, next session on 12/15
• No block scheduling; nurses rotate across units as needed

• Facility: Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital
• Bed Count: 341 beds
• Unit: PCU/IMC/Stepdown, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 3:1
• Trauma Level: 2
• Support staff includes CNAs, unit clerks, and telemetry techs

Additional unit details

• Must be ACLS trained and telemetry certified
• Ventilators and respiratory support available 24/7
• Staff expected to float to appropriate units with resource float team support

Shift Details

• Hours per shift: 12 hours (7 AM - 7 PM or as posted)
• Shifts to be scheduled and posted; self-scheduling available
• No weekend requirements besides holiday coverage

Patient Population

• Adults with acute cardiac conditions, post-procedural care, and hemodynamic instability, including those requiring insulin and other drips, with diagnoses such as ACS, heart failure, and post-surgical recovery
