- Full-time, night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for obstetric patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum.
- Monitor fetal and maternal well-being using external and internal fetal monitoring, including IUPC and EFM.
- Assist with sterile vaginal exams, epidural and anesthesia administration, and cesarean section procedures.
- Manage labor progression, perform newborn assessments, and provide discharge education to parents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and respond to emergencies such as neonatal or maternal arrest.
- Document patient care accurately using systems like Meditech, GE Centricity, and Omnicell.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Connecticut.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and FHM certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery or related obstetric nursing.
- Proficiency in fetal monitoring, sterile procedures, and obstetric assessments.
- Ability to work night shifts and on a block schedule (19:00-07:00).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with postpartum care, neonatal resuscitation, and obstetric emergencies.
- Familiarity with using SBAR communication protocols.
- Knowledge of labor ratios and couplet care models.
