Special Education Teacher
Job Title
• 25/26 - SPED Teachers (9-12) - Kansas City, MO
Location
• Kansas City, Missouri
Schedule / Job Type
• Contract with potential for conversion
• Onsite, 5 days per week
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver tailored instruction and assessments in accordance with students' IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to support student progress
• Facilitate ARD meetings and develop individualized educational plans
• Provide modifications and accommodations to meet diverse student needs
• Monitor and document student growth, behavior, and services in required systems
• Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment fostering student engagement and academic success
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid Missouri Teaching license with appropriate certification for special education at the 9-12 level
• Special Education certification for applicable grade level
• Demonstrated knowledge of core subject areas
• Satisfactory background check and fingerprint clearance
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior experience teaching in a special education setting or in a similar grade level
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Strong commitment to educational equity and serving underserved communities
