Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Bedford, IN
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 36–48 hours per week; day shifts (3x12-hour shifts)
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a busy medical-surgical unit.
• Take charge and coordinate patient care when required, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage complex cases including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CVA, electrolyte imbalances, renal failure, and other conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver safe and effective treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and standards.
• Float to similar units as needed within the hospital.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• Active IN state nursing license (or must obtain prior to start).
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Willingness to float within hospital as needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Previous charge nurse experience.
• Experience with thoracentesis, COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, CVA, or electrolyte imbalances.
