- Full-time, 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week, temporary travel assignment (13–26 weeks)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit with a focus on neurological and medical intermediate patients.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering treatments such as IV starts, drips, vents, and telemetry.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient care goals and uphold organizational standards.
- Adhere to patient safety protocols, including call-off policies and holiday work requirements.
- Document patient interactions accurately using electronic systems such as EPIC and PYXIS.
- Maintain a teamwork-focused approach, ensuring compliance with behavioral expectations and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina or a compact state, with in-hand certification at start.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably with neuro or intermediate population.
- Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH (training and certification).
- Successful completion of EKG testing prior to start date.
- Experience with telemetry, vent management, IV start, and medication drips.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Additional certifications: CCRN, TNCC, CPI.
- Experience with triage, ICP, conscious sedation, and charge nurse responsibilities.
- Ability to float within hospital or to adjacent facilities, depending on census.
- Charting proficiency in systems such as Epic.

Additional Notes
- Call-offs and RTO requests are strictly managed; no work onsite after booking.
- Must be willing to work holidays—Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
- Floating required to other intermediate and critical care units.
- Shift timings are 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with self-scheduling approved by staff.
- Candidates must complete orientation, including a computer class and unit shifts.
- Must adhere to fatigue policies limiting work to 5 consecutive days and 60 hours/week.
