Key Responsibilities

  • Provide post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in a Level I Trauma Center's PACU.
  • Manage complex postoperative patients, including those with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and general anesthesia recovery.
  • Rotate between PACU and pre/post interventional radiology areas as needed.
  • Monitor and assess patient status, administer medications, and ensure patient safety during recovery.
  • Collaborate with surgical and medical teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC charting system.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid state RN license (Missouri license or compact license required at time of submission).
  • Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience or experience in a Level I Trauma Center.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Proficiency in managing ventilated patients, vasoactive medications, and drains.
  • Ability to work nights, with variable start times, including 21:00-09:00 shifts.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • EPIC charting system experience.
  • Experience with postoperative management of surgical patients such as GU, GYN, colorectal, bariatric, ENT, and minimally invasive procedures.
  • Critical care skills in managing complex, critically ill patients in a Trauma Level I setting.

Additional Details

  • Shifts: Night (21:00-09:00), 3 nights per week.
  • No call required, though optional shifts may be available.
  • RTO (Requests for Time Off): Up to 7 days per 13-week contract, with RTO included on submission.
  • Travel compliance, licensing, and credentialing requirements apply.
  • This role is for experienced RN candidates comfortable managing complex postoperative patients in a high-acuity environment.
