Registered Nurse - PACU
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule / Job Type: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 8-week assignment with firm start date
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from surgery within a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.
- Monitor and assess patient vitals, condition, and responses to treatments, ensuring safe recovery until discharge or transfer.
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesiology teams to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate actively in patient rounds, documentation, and ensuring compliance with all perioperative protocols.
- Work in a facility that receives a wide variety of surgical specialties, including neuro, ortho, thoracic, urology, gynecology, plastics, and more.
- Float within hospital units as required, supporting various patient care areas.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in Indiana or holding a compact license.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a similar high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center, with proficiency in Cerner EMR, and working with pediatric, neuro, and surgical patient populations.
- Comfortable working with ventilated and critically ill patients, including intubated and pediatric patients.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center with high surgical volume.
- Previous experience in PACU or perioperative settings, including PACU, IR, Endoscopy, Cath Lab, or Ambulatory Surgery.
- Ability to work night shifts in a high-acuity environment and adapt to rapid patient turnover.

Additional Notes:
Candidates must have their licenses in hand prior to starting. Floating is mandatory across units. Prior emergency and critical care experience highly preferred.
