Job Title

Schedule / Job Type

• Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift, full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to ICU patients, including neuro, post-neurosurgical, stroke, and trauma cases
• Monitor and manage ventilators, IV drips, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Respond to medical emergencies such as arrhythmias, respiratory failure, sepsis, and MODS
• Float to Stepdown, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units as needed
• Adhere to all protocols related to patient safety and clinical procedures
• Complete initial and ongoing skills assessments, including EKG interpretation and P/F testing as required

Required Qualifications

• Valid VA or compact nursing license in hand at the time of submission
• Strong neuro nursing experience, specifically with post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke patients
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification required
• EPIC EMR proficiency
• Ability to float to various units, including Stepdown, ED, and MedSurg
• Current driver’s license for address verification
• No prior license or background hits

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3+ years of critical care experience, preferably in neuro ICU
• Travel or ICU-specific experience preferred
• Experience with Vent management, IV titration, and telemetry monitoring

Shift Details

• Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week

• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of Chesapeake are preferred
• Candidate must demonstrate strong neuro critical care skills and pass all required assessments
