Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive and focused assessments of patients with emergent, urgent, or non-urgent conditions in a busy Emergency Department.
- Triage patients using evidence-based protocols to determine acuity levels and initiate appropriate care.
- Provide rapid intervention and stabilization for patients experiencing medical, surgical, traumatic, psychiatric, or pediatric emergencies.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with hospital policies and provider orders.
- Monitor and operate medical equipment, including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and point-of-care testing devices.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, EMS personnel, and other healthcare team members.
- Coordinate patient care activities, including diagnostic tests, re-evaluation, disposition planning, and patient education.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in protocols such as rapid response, trauma activation, code blue, stroke, and STEMI responses.
- Adhere strictly to infection control, safety guidelines, and hospital standards.
- Support a patient-centered approach with empathy and service excellence in a high-volume Emergency Department setting.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma or an active compact license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Ability to obtain TNCC and ENPC certifications within required timeframes after hire.
- Prior experience in emergency nursing, critical care, or high-acuity environments.
