Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, 36 or 48-hour day shifts, on a floating basis within pediatric units
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for pediatric patients across various units including PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, peds ED, and postpartum/mother-baby
- Float to different pediatric units as needed, adhering to scope of practice and facility policies
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, documentation standards, and safety guidelines
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain up-to-date certifications and licensure required for pediatric nursing roles
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years PICU experience
- Valid state nursing license (in-hand by the start date or pending approval)
- BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- EPIC electronic health record experience
- Ability to float within scope of practice and adapt to various pediatric units
- Certification in Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding (pending or completed)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NICU or float pool experience in pediatric settings
- BSN degree preferred
- Previous experience with UVAs float policy and hospital-specific protocols

Additional Details
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced pediatric environment, including PICU, NICU, and other pediatric units
- Travel compliance and licensing requirements apply; in-state licenses preferred
- Scheduling considerations: No guaranteed block scheduling; every other weekend and two out of three winter holidays required
Note: Candidates must adhere to all facility policies, including float requirements and certification submissions.
