Registered Nurse - PACU
Location: Austin, TX
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 13-week contract shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Days shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized post-anesthesia care to patients in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Unit (PACU)
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs and recovery status following surgical procedures
- Titrate drips and care for ventilated and intubated patients, including those on BiPAP/CPAP, in accordance with clinical protocols
- Administer pain medications and ensure patient comfort on a frequent vital sign schedule
- Assist with patient discharge education and safely discharge patients home
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care and safety
Required Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in the state of Texas
- Critical care experience including managing ventilated patients and titrating drips
- Experience caring for intubated patients and those on BiPAP/CPAP (RT available for support)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Previous Meditech EMR experience
- PACU Phase 1 experience at a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills
