Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed cardiac step-down unit, handling patients with CHF, MI, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, and post-procedural care.
• Monitor patients using telemetry equipment and administer titratable IV medications such as nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin drips, heparin, and diuretics.
• Perform bedside procedures including cardioversion and medication titration in a fast-paced cardiac care environment.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care and compliance with unit policies.
• Utilize EMR system (Cerner) for documentation and patient management.
• Adhere to unit-specific guidelines, dress codes, and safety protocols during shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or eligible for licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in step-down or telemetry nursing.
• Experience with titratable cardiac IV medications.
• Flexibility to float across MedSurg, COVID, ER holding, and step-down units.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with prostacyclins (e.g., Flolan, Veletri).
• Relief charge nurse experience.
• Strong team player with a compassionate and adaptable attitude.
