Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Location: Asheville, NC
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care to obstetric, neonatal, and gynecological patients in the Labor and Delivery unit.
- Monitor fetal well-being using electronic fetal monitoring equipment and manage labor progress.
- Assist with childbirth procedures such as vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Support new mothers and their families through postpartum care and education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- At least 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Experience with high-risk obstetric cases and immediate newborn care.
- Basic proficiency in fetal monitoring and circulating procedures is preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience in a Level II trauma or tertiary care hospital.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Outgoing and friendly personality with excellent communication skills.
