Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult patients in the IMC, PCU, or stepdown units.
• Float to appropriate units as needed, working within a resource float team.
• Administer insulin drips, cardiac drips, and manage post-cardiac cath patients.
• Start IVs, monitor telemetry, and perform other advanced clinical procedures.
• Adhere to unit-specific protocols, including medication infusions and patient monitoring.
• Ensure timely documentation using EPIC electronic medical record system.

Required Qualifications

• Active NY Registered Nurse license or proof of application with applied date.
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS must be completed prior to start.
• Epic EMR experience from within the past 2 years.
• Valid NY State license and reliable transportation are strongly recommended.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with insulin and cardiac drips, post-cardiac cath patients.
• Prior travel or float nurse experience.
• Knowledge of various acute care diagnoses such as ACS, heart failure, post-vascular procedures, etc.

Additional Details

• Shifts are 12 hours, nights, with three shifts per week.
• Involves working holidays; must be available for 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Orientation sessions start on 12/29; bi-weekly.
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained; complete work history required.
• Reliable transportation is essential due to location and lack of public transit.
• The facility has 341 beds, trauma level 2, and uses EPIC for documentation and MAK for medication management.
• Expect to float to different units during shifts as part of resource team.
