Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute inpatient progressive care for adult patients, including those with cardiac conditions, post-procedural care, and complex diagnoses.
• Administer medications, including insulin and cardiac drips, and manage invasive procedures such as starting IVs and post-cardiac cath care.
• Float as part of the resource float team, covering various units as needed.
• Adhere to protocols for insulin, cardiac drips, and other infusions, ensuring patient safety and compliance.
• Monitor patients with telemetry, responding to changes in clinical status, and supporting ventilator or respiratory needs as required.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and medication administration in MAK, following facility protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Valid NY nursing license or proof of application with applied date.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; NIHSS must be completed prior to start.
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry experience.
• Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac cath care.
• Recent Epic experience (within past 2 years).
• Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s).
• Reliable transportation, as public transit is not accessible in the area.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience working in a trauma or teaching hospital environment.
• Familiarity with advanced patient monitoring and complex cardiac patient care.

Additional Notes:

• Shift hours will be posted; typically 7 PM – 7 AM.
• Nurses are expected to participate in orientations starting 12/29.
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained; complete employment history required.
• Reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended for local travel.
• No block schedule restrictions; rotations include every other weekend and holiday work as required.
• Floating to various relevant units is required, with cross-covering as part of the resource float team.
