Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, on-site

Key Responsibilities
• Provide skilled telemetry nursing care in a Med-Surg unit with a focus on adult patient populations.
• Insert NG tubes and peripheral IVs, interpret telemetry strips, and respond to cardiac rhythms at the bedside.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless patient care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Work holiday shifts (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day) as required.
• Participate in bi-weekly orientations; work shifts are scheduled via an online platform with self-scheduling options.
• Maintain accurate documentation in an Epic electronic medical record system; manage medication administration with Pyxis.

Required Qualifications
• Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS must be completed prior to start).
• Telemetry certification (within the past 2 years).
• Minimum of 5 years of Med-Surg Telemetry experience or 3 years of Telemetry experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least 2 completed travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities or previous experience at a similar acute care facility.
• EPIC electronic health record experience within the past 2 years.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with peripheral IV placement.
• Knowledge of unit-specific procedures and protocols, including NG tube insertion and telemetry rhythm interpretation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a tight-knit community setting.

• Facility: Central Vermont Medical Center, Berlin, VT (122 beds; Med-Surg with Telemetry unit).
• Floating is infrequent; no block schedules.
• Must have completed at least 2 travel assignments in large, acute care facilities or prior UVMHN experience.
