Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care for patients recovering from surgical procedures in a Level I Trauma Center.
- Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including ventilated patients, invasive monitoring (such as ICP), and vasoactive medication administration.
- Recognize and respond to patient dysrhythmias and other post-op complications.
- Administer blood products, start IVs, and perform phlebotomy as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient patient recovery and transfer.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs, including working across various surgical recovery units.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State Registered Nurse license (in hand at time of submission, or pending acceptable for Missouri, but Illinois requires an active license).
- At least 2-3 years of Level 1 ICU experience.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Critical care experience with ventilated patients, invasive monitoring, blood transfusions, and vasoactive drugs.
- EPIC charting system experience preferred as specified for certain units.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center, Phase I PACU, or similar critical care environment.
- Ability to recognize and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and perform vascular access procedures.
- Experience with ICP monitoring, blood product administration, and ventilator management.
