Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical unit, including assessments, medication administration, and patient education.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Perform procedures such as small I&Ds, peritoneal dialysis, and occasional thoracentesis.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (Meditech).
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain a positive and high-energy attitude to foster a supportive patient environment.

Required Qualifications
• Active VA/Compact Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital-based experience in a Medical Surgical setting.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to pass a basic rhythm interpretation test.
• Experience with EKG, vital sign machines, wound vacs, and rhythm monitoring equipment.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior experience working in a Level I trauma hospital.
• Strong patient-focused approach and excellent communication skills.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically Meditech.

Note: This is a 13-week travel assignment starting on December 8, 2025, with shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM at a busy, Level I trauma hospital dedicated to advanced patient care.
