- Full-time, contract, 3 shifts per week, night shifts (12-hour nights)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized neonatal intensive care to critically ill infants, including premature babies as young as 22 weeks.
- Monitor and manage patients with various diagnoses such as hypoxic injury, surgical infants, and those requiring specialized procedures like therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide therapy, and ventilator support.
- Administer medications and treatments using advanced equipment including ventilators, IV pumps, and Feeding Fusion.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care; responsible for documentation within the EPIC system.
- Float to different hospital units, including pediatric, PICU, and nursery, as needed based on census and skill set.
- Adhere to unit protocols and safety guidelines, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience in a Level 3 or 4 Intensive Care Nursery.
- Valid NICU or appropriate RN license; NC or Compact license acceptable if in hand at start.
- Certifications: BLS and NRP required.
- Vents experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; overnight availability is required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Experience with Epic charting system.
- Knowledge of specialized procedures such as GTT, Trachs, Broviacs, and therapeutic hypothermia.
