- Nights, Full-time, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift
Key Responsibilities
- Float between departments and local locations within 20 miles as required
- Assess triage patients over 20 weeks gestation using obstetric triage acuity tools
- Conduct labor assessment, fetal evaluation, and monitoring for signs of labor, PTL, preeclampsia, membrane rupture, decreased fetal movement, vaginal bleeding, and critical conditions
- Stabilize patients in emergency situations and coordinate transfers to higher levels of care if needed
- Manage intrapartum care including labor evaluation, medication administration (e.g., Pitocin, mag supplements, antihypertensives), and preparation for delivery
- Provide postpartum and newborn care, including assessments, medication administration, assisting with procedures such as circumcisions, and stabilization of critically ill newborns
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years current labor and delivery nursing experience
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
- BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent)
- NRP certification
- AWHONN Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certification
- Ability to pass BCA testing within the first week of assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC electronic health record experience (training available onsite)
