Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

• Bloomington, IN

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, night shifts, 4 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities
• Provide emergency nursing care to patients in a busy ER environment, managing acutely ill and injured patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including LPNs and CNAs, utilizing team nursing approaches based on patient acuity.
• Assess patient conditions, implement care plans, and monitor patient progress to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Float to inpatient PCU units as needed, providing seamless care across units.
• Follow protocols for boarded patients, stabilizing and preparing them for transfer or discharge.
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health records.

Required Qualifications
• Active RN license in Indiana or able to obtain.
• Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system.
• Ability to work night shifts, including every other weekend and major holidays.
• Willingness to float to other units as necessary.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Previous float or ER experience in a hospital setting.
• Strong teamwork and delegation skills, comfortable working with LPNs and CNAs.
• Knowledge of acuity adaptable units and boarding protocols.
