• Night shifts, 3x12 hours, full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Intermediate Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, or Stepdown units, including monitoring and managing cardiac, respiratory, and general patient needs.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage telemetry on the unit and remote monitoring systems.
• Administer IV therapy, manage central lines, ports, and arterial lines; provide medication management including cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Care for patients with cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and neurological conditions, including post-procedure and post-surgical cases.
• Perform wound care, manage surgical drains, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway devices.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adhere to safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (must have prior to submission).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry interpretation.
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication management, and invasive line care.
• Knowledge of trauma, surgical drain management, and respiratory support devices.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in a Level I trauma center or teaching hospital.
• Cerner charting system experience.
• Charge nurse or leadership experience.
• Experience in a Magnet facility.
