Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy and management for neonatal or pediatric patients, primarily in Labor & Delivery (L&D) units.
  • Administer treatments, monitor patient responses, and document clinical interventions accurately.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Float within hospital units, including PICU and Peds, based on facility needs.
  • Adhere to established protocols and maintain certification standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Indiana State Respiratory Therapist license in hand prior to start date.
  • Children’s Hospital experience within the last 3 years, specifically NICU or PICU.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in neonatal or pediatric critical care units.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain the necessary certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, NRP (required for L&D and per facility), with PALS preferred.
  • Accredited educational program (CoARC or regionally accredited by CHEA).
  • 18 months of relevant experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in Level 1 neonatal or pediatric intensive care settings.
  • Proficiency with neonatal and pediatric ventilator management.
  • Ability to float across multiple units as needed.

Additional Notes

  • Shifts are nights, with 12-hour shifts scheduled 3 times per week.
  • Travel compliance is Tier 2; candidates must be accredited through ACEN or CCNE.
  • Candidates must work at least two major holidays per year.
  • All certifications must be current and in hand at time of submission; temporary licenses may be available post-application.
  • Out-of-state residents require a 3-month break to reset eligibility; IN residents need a 6-month break.
  • Successful candidates will be required to float within hospital units, including PICU and Peds.
  • The position involves no specific charting requirements, with a focus on clinical competencies.
