Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Bloomington, IN
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shifts (4x12-hour shifts per week)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency room patients across a range of acuity levels, including stable patients and those requiring stepdown or ICU-level care.
- Collaborate with team members in a float capacity, potentially working on inpatient PCU units, utilizing team nursing and delegation skills.
- Maintain compliance with department protocols, including documentation, patient assessment, and treatment planning.
- Adhere to safety and infection control standards, ensuring patient and staff safety at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility to float to affiliate hospitals or other units as needed according to staffing requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in Indiana (or eligible for temporary license if applicable).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ER or acute care nursing experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records.
- Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays and flexible to work every other weekend.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience working in an acuity adaptable unit or PCU/ICU setting.
- Comfortable working in a team nursing environment with LPNs and CNAs.
- Strong delegation and communication skills.
