Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on a Med/Surg unit specializing in Orthopedics and Trauma.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient treatment plans, including post-surgical care for orthopedic procedures.
• Manage a fast-paced, high-acuity caseload, including trauma patients, post-surgery recovery, and patients with drains and tubes.
• Float to different levels of care within the unit or nearby facilities as needed, adhering to staffing policies.
• Ensure compliance with all certification, documentation, and safety standards, including BCLS and ACLS (preferred).
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning to promote optimal recovery outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Indiana or Compact State RN license (in hand or submitted fingerprint application).
• Minimum 18 months of recent RN experience in a Med/Surg, Trauma, or Orthopedic setting.
• BCLS certification (required); ACLS preferred.
• Ability to work 50% of weekends, including scheduled holidays.
• Willingness to precept or shadow students at teaching facilities.
• Successful completion of background checks and compliance policies.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with orthopedic, trauma, and high-acuity patient care.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience floating across care levels.
