Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services to pediatric and neonatal patients in NICU, PICU, and pediatric floors.
- Manage airway devices, suctioning, intubations, and ventilator support including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-frequency oscillators.
- Administer medications via nebulizers, inhalers, and delivery systems, monitoring patient response.
- Perform procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling, chest physiotherapy, and neonatal incubations.
- Monitor patient status with tools like ABG interpretation and EKGs, ensuring optimal respiratory care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in high-acuity pediatric environments for patient safety and care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State Respiratory Therapist license (or NC/Compact State License at start).
- BLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience in pediatric/neonatal respiratory care.
- Proficiency with neonatal and pediatric respiratory equipment, including ventilators and airway management devices.
- Experience with Epic charting system or similar EMR.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with neonatal high-risk deliveries, neonatal transport, and specialized pediatric procedures.
- Ability to operate advanced respiratory equipment like Servo-I, HOFV-3100, and Heliox systems.
- Skilled in patient transport across departments and facilities.
- Knowledge of EKG interpretation and arterial blood gas analysis.
